All these pictures are taken around our mill and show a glimpse of all the various processes of manufacturing our fabrics...

We have a vast yarnstore housing hundreds of different yarns sourced from all over the world.  In addition, our twisting machines enable us to produce our own unique fancy yarns, and our dyehouse can dye plain yarns to any specific shades we may require.  The dyehouse also has facilities for piece-dying; when a fabric is woven with undyed yarns and then the whole piece of fabric is put through the dye process.

Once the yarns are selected for the warp and wefts of a fabric, the warp of the fabric is created on one of our warp mills or our Hergeth warper which towers vertically up to the ceiling in our weaving shed.  The warp beams are then loaded into the loom and the weaving process begins.

Once the fabric is woven and taken off the loom it goes through a variety of finishing processes.  Firstly darning where the fabrics are checked thoroughly for snapped threads and are mended accordingly, then washed, spun and dried before being checked by our examining department for any weaving faults or dyeing/shade levelness.

Fabrics either have a press finish for a smooth, flat effect or a steam finish for a natural "fluffy" texture, they then have a final check by our quality control department before being packed and sent out to our customers all over the world - you can buy our fabrics online in our online fabric shop
