BBC Local Radio 50th Anniversary & Fiona Hurley

teacups

To mark the 50th anniversary of BBC Local Radio the regions are uniting in stitch!

The challenge is to create a 25cm/10″ fabric square that best reflects what you treasure about your patch.  From castles to cairns, Cumberland sausages to Morcambe Bay Shirmp what is is it that says Cumbria to you?

Using up small odd remnants, Fiona Hurley from Cumbria has created this patch work to the theme ‘things you treasure about Cumbria’.  She has chosen to show Linton tweeds and our Bobbin coffee shop in her patchwork, using teacups in tweed! We are honoured! Thanks Fiona!

She also appeared on BBC Radio Cumbria, and her patch work was shown at the exhibition.
